Wellington

Being tight for time only allowed us to have one night in Wellington before heading to the south island. I would say spend at least 2 full days here so you don’t have to cram everything into one day. Lot’s to do and see here! Whether it’s view points, shopping, history, walks or all 4 of them things, Wellington’s got it!

This is an absolutely beautiful spot where you can camp for free, I mean what is there to complain about when you wake up to these views? There is a lovely walk along the coast here where you can take in the breathtaking views of the snowy mountains across the ocean.

Seal sunbathing with his arm out, making sure he doesn’t get a tan line.

Is he ok or?

Te Papa is worth a look around as you are wondering around Wellington City Centre, it is a free museum with a range of sections to it. Interested in learning more about New Zealand history? what about looking into the Maori art & culture, or are you interested in seeing the first world war exhibition which is held here in the museum? All free of charge of course. You could spend hours in this building.

Diving board in the middle of the city centre, I can imagine this being very popular on a hot day!

There is a huge variety of bars and restaurants scattered around Wellington city centre, in particular Cuba Street! This is a nice little Mexican called ‘Sweet Mothers’ which was highly recommended by my pal Jack from home.

Views from the ferry! On route to the South Island!
